Finning Apprentices Winners In 2016 Skills Competitions

Finning was well represented at the 2016 Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC), June 5 to 8 in Moncton NB. Two of Finning’s apprentice technicians were among the 500 competitors at Skills Canada, the only national, multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices in the country. Court Metchooyeh, from Hay River, an apprentice and heavy equipment technician at Finning’s Ekati, NWT branch and Jan Vogler, an apprentice and heavy equipment technician at the Kamploops, B.C. branch, advanced to compete against the best of the best from across Canada after winning gold medals in their respective provincial Skills Competitions.

Jan Vogler secured the silver medal in the national competition, placing him second in the country in the Heavy Equipment category.
