Proven specialist environmental contractor McAuliffe has ordered a range of new Cat® machinery from Finning, including six Cat 320E, three Cat 336E and one Cat 312E hydraulic excavators, two Cat 730C articulated dump trucks, a Cat CS64B utility roller, a Cat 950K wheel loader and a Cat 216B skid steer loader, worth £2 million.

Based in Wolverhampton, with a subsidiary office in the North West, McAuliffe offers its clients services across a number of industries, including soil and groundwater remediation, ground improvement, materials management and demolition services. The new fleet of Cat machines, including bespoke demolition specification and machine control, will enable the company to deliver brownfield site transformation, meeting its commitment to the environment and reducing its carbon footprint in the process.

Director John McAuliffe said: “Our business plays a key role in the regeneration of brownfield land across the UK, so it is imperative that our operational business meets constantly-changing legislation. The investment in Cat equipment allows us to fulfil our environmental responsibilities, by using machinery that has state-of-the-art technology to deliver a high level of productivity and reduce our emissions at the same time.”

“Due to the nature of our business, we needed a solution that provided the business with premium equipment to carry out work more efficiently. Secondly, it’s essential that we meet deadlines set out by our customers, so we required a solid reliable product and back-up support service UK wide that would keep disruption to a minimal level. Finning has given us an equipment solution that is beneficial to both us and our customers and we have every confidence in their capability to deliver.”

Each machine will benefit from a full three-year service and maintenance contract from Finning, and a three-year warranty to help keep the operating costs of each machine as low as possible. The company will also be able to utilise the support of the nationwide network of Finning branches and mobile support engineers.

Paul Edwards, machine sales representative at Finning, said: “It’s more common for businesses to look at ways to save money within fleet management, so when we worked with McAuliffe, it was crucial to understand the operational requirements for each machine to identify the most suitable equipment. Each machine will be supported by total service packages so that the customer can save on service and maintenance costs, which can be a burden.”

“As a business, they also recognise the benefits of using equipment data, whilst taking a collaborative approach to operational best practice. In respect of that, our team of dedicated Finsight engineers will be able to provide real-time information to avoid and eliminate any machine disruption. Working alongside McAuliffe once again has been an important deal for Finning and is a positive opportunity to build a successful working relationship.”
