Paving The Way Cormac Invest In Seven New Cat Machines Due To Continued Growth

South West construction giants, CORMAC Ltd, have added seven new Cat® machines to its continually expanding paving operation. Sold by Finning, the two Cat AP500E Asphalt Pavers are already in use. This deal completes £1 million in CORMAC fleet investment with Finning since May 2013.

CORMAC has expanded operations from its Cornwall base, where it delivers surfacing and highway maintenance contracts for Cornwall Council. This growth has seen them carry out works throughout Devon and Somerset, securing contracts with a number of commercial clients.

Simon Deacon, CORMAC Director of Operations commented on the investment being a reflection on this continued operational uplift: “We have invested extensively in new machinery to meet our rapidly expanding business growth. These machines will ensure we are able to deliver quality surfacing solutions that meet the needs of our various Clients”

The Finning and CORMAC relationship has exceeded ten years, but this has been strengthened even further as CORMAC now provide service operations for Finning within Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. This has leveraged CORMAC’s position within the region, as they can provide complete supply and lay solution due to their quarry and asphalt plant located in Cornwall.

Tony Miscandlon, Finning UK Territory Manager for the South, commented on the ongoing business success between Finning and CORMAC: “Finning UK have a very strong relationship with CORMAC which has enabled us to supply numerous Cat paving machines. The new products supplied are some of the strongest on the market and CORMAC have recognised this, which has helped them to become one of the leading surfacing contractors in the South West region.”

Tony went on to add how the new machines have the potential to increase CORMAC’s operational capabilities even further: “The new AP500E machines will prove to be excellent all round performers and will open up a much wider scope of works due to their power and maneuverability.”
