COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Length: 3 x 10-hour days
Target Audience: Technicians

This course will cover: Location of components, operation and maintenance related to the Machine systems on the 794/798 AC Tier 4 Mining Truck.

PPE Required

Participants must provide their own safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and coveralls with Hi-Visibility Markings.

PREREQUISITES

Familiarity with Service Information System 2.0 / Electronic Technician (ET) will be an asset for this course.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the course the participant will be able to:

- Identify safety concerns related to:

  • Electric Drive System
  • Tier IV C175 Engine Fuel System
  • Tier IV Aftertreatment System

- Identify the major components for each machine system and the maintenance required for each:

  • Steering
  • Hoist
  • Brake
  • Engine cooling fan
  • Drivetrain cooling fan
  • Rear Axle lubrication
  • Engine and Tier IV Emissions
  • Electric Drive System

- Describe the operation of each machine system.

- Identify system warning lamps and identify which machine system they monitor.
