Meet Our People

Heather Butt-Paul, Workday Global Practice Lead

One word that describes my Finning career: Opportunity

"I feel like I have endless opportunity. It’s as limitless as you want it to be.”

A Human Resources professional by training, Heather brings her knowledge and experience in the HR world to establish and manage our HR system, Workday, in all our regions. She manages a team of business application analysts to support its technology applications.

Heather joined Finning in 2013 as an HR manager. She was soon given the opportunity to take a key role in implementing Workday in Canada, a year-long project. Her current role deals with information systems as well as HR, allowing her to gain new knowledge and develop new skills.

"I have great mentors within the organization. I’ve also had really great leaders who have supported me through coaching and training. And that’s been the case no matter which leader I was with.”

Craig Curran-Morton, Mining Project Manager

One word that describes my Finning career: Collaborative

"I don’t have a mechanical bone in my body, so what I’ve been able to learn about mining equipment and mine operations is unbelievable. I never thought I’d be doing something like this. It’s thanks to the people here, who are so willing to teach. From something as simple as what does that acronym mean to how does that process work, people are more than willing to share their knowledge and experience.”

Craig gets to do what he loves every day—facilitate conversations. He brings teams together to help the Mining group and its customers achieve their goals.

Craig used to work for one of our customers and he’d heard what it was like to work for Finning. In August 2011, he joined Finning as a project manager, working on a people project in the oil sands, later moving into Mining.

"When you’re surrounded by great people, it makes your job easier and it inspires you to do your best.”
