Data Protection at Finning – Our Commitments

At Finning, we want to ensure you have peace of mind related to the personal data we collect, use and disclose as part of our day-to-day interactions with you, as maintaining your trust to protect your information while we evolve with ever-changing data protection legislation, is our priority.

We are staying ahead of the changes being made by the regulators in the regions where we operate, including the sweeping changes made to the data protection legislation in the EU to the recent changes the Personal Information Protection Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in Canada, by updating our current policies and implementing new measures, to make sure we stay compliant and vigilant when it comes to your personal data.

Some of these changes include:

  • Your Consent – We have reviewed and updated (and will continue to review and update) our consent practices to ensure we are in-line with the applicable data protection legislation.
  • Protecting Your Data – Changes to security requirements means we continually evaluate and update our practices and tools to exceed industry standards.
  • Storing Your Data – To avoid keeping your data for longer than necessary, our practices ensure customer information that is inactive or outdated, is securely deleted.
  • Internal Training – Ongoing education of our employees ensures we understand all rules and requirements and apply them in accordance with our Data Governance Statement.
  • Commitments In Writing – Our commitment to protect your data is listed in all contracts at Finning, so you understand our obligations when it comes to legislative requirements.

We value the trust you have in us and are committed to maintaining your trust.  If you have any questions or need clarification about our policies, processes or approach to data protection and management, please contact Finning’s Privacy Officer at privacy.officer@finning.com.

Thank you.
