South Holland takes second batch of Cat 320EL excavators

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29 TH, 2015

Finning UK & Ireland has delivered its second batch of Cat® 320EL excavators to South Holland IDB (Internal Drainage Board Industry).

Having worked with Finning for the last three years, South Holland IDB turned to the Caterpillar dealer to provide a more efficient drainage solution. Put together at Finning’s HQ in Cannock, Staffordshire, two Cat 320EL Hydraulic Excavators, were specially adapted to accommodate weed cutting baskets.

Along with bespoke four metre sticks and additional counter weights, the machines are required for South Holland’s weed cutting season, which maintains and clears the waterways to improve drainage. The Cat 320EL specification has proved far more productive in the weed cutting operation, showing significant savings in fuel.

Along with additional components and a five-year CSA (Customer Service Agreement) agreement, the Cat 320EL Hydraulic Excavators’ lift capacity has improved by five per cent, and its heavy lift configuration by 20 per cent. Built to withstand ‘rugged environments’, the Cat 320EL is adorned with heavy-duty track rollers and enhanced track shoe bolts to improve durability and reduce downtime.

Finning UK & Ireland has developed a strong relationship with South Holland, demonstrating its continued commitment to the Internal Drainage Board Industry and Water Ways.
