Finning sponsored and attended this years’ Women’s Engineering Society (WES) student conference held at Aston University in Birmingham. As part of Finning’s ongoing commitment to future engineers, and in particularly women looking to enter the industry, the business spent time with over 150 students at last weekend’s event.
Julie Ayres, Talent Advisor at Finning UK & Ireland: “This is a really exciting event for young women and we’re very proud to have been a sponsor. Over the course of the two days, we managed to speak to a number of intelligent and inspiring young women interested in starting their career at Finning.
“I was also joined by Heidi Perry, Field Engineer in power systems who has recently graduated from the Finning Apprentice Academy, and Farhana Azher, a graduate engineer in her second year with Finning. Both spent a lot of time with the students, sharing the experiences they’ve had with us, and giving all of the women useful hints and tips of how to progress in today’s engineering industry.”
