Finning Releases 2018 Sustainability Report

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 01, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Finning International Inc. (TSX: FTT) (“Finning” or the “Company”) announced today the release of its 2018 Sustainability Report detailing the Company’s progress in people, safety, environment, product stewardship, communities and ethics and governance.

Key highlights in Finning’s 2018 Sustainability Report include:

  • Reduced the Company’s absolute GHG emissions globally by 4% compared to 2017;
  • Achieved more than 30 percent female representation on the Board of Directors in 2018, in line with Finning’s Board Diversity Policy and five-year inclusion and diversity strategy;
  • Launched a global talent development program in 2018 called Power to Lead and piloted the training for 151 leaders at various levels across the Company;
  • Connected 68 percent of Finning’s customers’ CAT® equipment and delivered preventative maintenance expertise for more than 14,000 pieces of equipment through the Company’s regional condition monitoring centres, which saved millions of dollars in operating costs for customers in 2018;
  • Worked with Caterpillar Inc. to convert 14 haul trucks to autonomous operations in 2018;
  • Continued community investments, sponsorships, training, and employee volunteer hours to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-related non-profit partnerships and community skills development;
  • Strengthened the Company’s governance foundation with the development of a global Sustainability Policy.
