The 2018 CSO50 Awards recognizing 50 organizations for their risk leadership and outstanding cybersecurity initiatives, were handed out at the CSO50 Conference and Awards ceremony February 26. Finning was among the top 50 companies hitting the mark with an international initiative focused on increasing cybersecurity awareness and best practices globally across our organization.

"This was a huge honour for the IT security team,” said Suzie Smibert, director, enterprise architecture & chief information security officer, Finning International. “Our global cybersecurity initiative ranked amongst programs developed by Fortune 500 companies like Mastercard, FDA, Kimberley Clark and AT&T.”

Recipients had the opportunity to showcase their winning projects during the three-day conference. “Our program was developed to promote a cybersecurity culture at Finning where employees understand the risks associated with cyber threats and are equipped with the knowledge and skills to better respond to those threats,” said Smibert. “By utilizing multiple communications tools and channels, we are seeing positive results and a marked improvement in the use of cybersecurity best practices across our global operations.” Congratulations to the IT security team on their achievement and success in empowering our people to combat security risks in the workplace.
