In June, Finning hosted a customer and employee event in Fort McKay to showcase the new Cat® 797F Tier IV truck. Since 2015, Finning Canada has been working closely with Caterpillar and our mining customers world-wide on improvements to the 797. This event was an opportunity to get up close and personal with the new 797F and see the improvements first hand. Some of the key features include faster speed on grade for improved productivity, a lower empty weight to ensure maximum payload and better braking for a safer truck to operate. The enhancements to the cab mean increased operator comfort and the Tier IV engine offers a greener truck with increased fuel efficiency. “The result is that the most productive mining truck in the world just got better,” said James Black, mining product manager, Finning Canada. “Customers will not only have a more efficient machine with the lowest operating cost per tonne, but an easier machine to service.”
