The Cat® Coal U‑Blades are designed to move large volumes of coal efficiently, reducing cycle time and increasing throughput.  Available in various capacities, starting from ~10 m³ to nearly 75 m³ (98 yd³), they've been designed to fit Cat large wheel dozers seamlessly.

These specialized U-blades feature a deep curved moldboard and angled sidebars that combine to carry significantly more coal per pass with minimal resistance. With optional stainless-steel liners for corrosion protection and tandem-push capabilities for high-production workflows, Coal U-Blades deliver unmatched performance in the most demanding coal-handling environments.

The blades are perfect for high-volume applications in power plants, coal terminals, and mining sites where speed, volume, and durability are paramount.

Frequently Asked Questions

What machines are compatible with Cat Coal U‑Blades?
Cat Coal U-Blades are engineered for use with large Cat Track-Type Tractors and Wheel Dozers. Blade sizing and mounting configurations are available to match specific machine models, ensuring optimal load handling, stability, and performance under high-demand conditions. Finning can support you to find the ideal blade for your machine and project.

How are Cat Coal U‑Blades different from other blade types?
Unlike general-purpose or angle blades, Coal U-Blades feature a tall, curved moldboard and angled side wings designed specifically to handle light-density, high-volume materials like coal. Their design prioritizes material retention and reduced drag, allowing for greater payloads with less effort.

Are there customization options for specific site conditions?
Yes. Along with various available size options, you can choose stainless-steel liner packages for enhanced corrosion resistance and center push plates for tandem dozing. These customizations improve blade longevity and jobsite versatility, especially in highly corrosive or high-capacity environments.

The long-term support Finning can provide will help you make the best choice for your project, as well as save you time looking for the right machine or attachment. Contact us for technical guidance or pricing advice.
