COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Length: 2 x 8-hour days
Target Audience: Technicians / Ticketed

The 3400 HEUI Engine Systems course will give the Technician an understanding of how the Intake, Exhaust, Fuel, Cooling and Lubrication Systems operate. The Technician will gain an understanding of the related components, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of the various systems, including the use of Electronic Technician.

PPE Required

Participants must provide their own safety glasses, steel toed footwear, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and coveralls with Hi-Visibility Markings.

PREREQUISITES

All Attendees Must have an active CWS login

COURSE OBJECTIVES

After completion of the course the participant will be able to:

·       Identify the maintenance requirements for the 3400 HEUI engines.

·       Describe the HEUI fuel system operation and troubleshooting procedures.

·       Describe the electronic control system operation and troubleshooting procedures.

·       Describe the top end maintenance including valve setting and removal and replacement of fuel injectors.

·       Use SIS2.0 to find technical and troubleshooting tests and specifications.

·       Use Electronic Technician (ET), to record and save ECM information and to diagnose and troubleshoot engine related faults.
