COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Length: 3 x 10-hour days
Target Audience: Heavy Equipment Technicians

This course covers the 6015B and 6015-04B Hydraulic Mining Shovels. Subjects covered will include Undercarriage, Superstructure, Engine and Pump Drive, Pumps, Hydraulic Tank, Servo/Pilot System, Travel System, Attachment Functions, Hydraulic Oil Cooling, Swing System, Central Lube System, Dashboard Functions, Electrical Schematic and Hydraulic Schematic. Along with the previous we will also cover hands on diagnostic, testing, and adjusting of the major systems.

Note: The customer must supply a machine for the practical portion of this class.

PPE Required

Participants must provide their own safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and coveralls with Hi-Visibility Markings

None.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

After completion of the course the participant should be able to:

·       Be able to navigate and explain the sub menu screens on the G407 monitor and how they are used by the operator and service person.

·       Using SIS, look up and record the engine specifications and using correct engine test equipment

perform an engine horsepower test.

·       Using ET, data log an engine performance test and evaluate the data log to determine engine state of

repair.

·       Explain the systems operation testing and adjusting of the electronic hydraulic pump(s).

·       Explain how the MCV(Main Control Valve)/Pilot Control System functions along with testing and

adjusting.

·       Explain how Boom regeneration is accomplished on the hydraulic valve.

·       Explain the closed loop Swing circuit hydraulics and how to test and adjust.

·       Perform a complete hydraulic pressure test of the 6015B hydraulic circuits including researching the

test and adjust procedure and specifications using SIS. Included in this test will be main relief, line reliefs, swing circuit reliefs, and calibrations.

·       Explain the travel circuit of the 6015 including 2 speed travel.

·       Test and adjust the Track Tensioning System with accumulators.

·       Demonstrate and explain the operation and testing of the Autolube Greasing System.
