COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Length: 4 x 10-hour days or 3 x 10-hour days (no engine)
Target Audience: Ticketed Service Technicians

We will be focusing on the 994H loader hydraulic, steering, braking, and demand fan circuit. Power train, payload measuring and electrical control, and monitoring systems will also be discussed. All new loader features along with testing and adjusting of these features and systems. This course is for 994H with the 3516B engine, engine will not be included in this training course.

Note: Customer must supply machine for practical portion of class, to be available throughout the class duration.

PPE Required

Participants must provide their own safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and coveralls with Hi-Visibility Markings.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

After completion of the course the participant should be able to:

  • Locate and identify all the major 994H machine components

  • Locate and identify all filters, dipsticks, indicators, fill tubes, drains, and test points.

  • Locate and identify the major components and explain operation of the 3516B engine and the Tier 4 Final emissions system NOTE: 4 day class only

  • Trace the flow of fuel, oil, air, and coolant throughout the engine NOTE: 4 day class only

  • Trace the flow of oil throughout all hydraulic components and explain operation.

  • Understand and be able to test the hydraulic system as how each component corresponds with the entire system.

  • Explain operation of Torque convertor and powertrain transmission

  • Perform testing and adjusting on the powertrain

  • Perform testing and adjusting on the braking, and steering system

  • Locate all controls in the new operator’s station, explain the operation of the new tractor features, and understand the correlation between different ECMs on the machine.
