COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Length: 3 x 10-hour days
Target Audience: Ticketed Service Technicians

In this 994K course we will discuss the loader hydraulic, steering, braking, and demand fan circuit. Power train, payload measuring, electrical control, and monitoring systems will also be discussed. All new loader features along with discussing the testing and adjusting of these features and systems. This course is for 994K with the 3516E Tier 4 final engine, engine and emissions will be given a high level overview included in this training course.

Note: Customer must supply machine for practical portion of class, to be available throughout the class duration.

PPE Required

Participants must provide their own safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and coveralls with Hi-Visibility Markings.

None.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Locate and identify all the major 994K machine components.

• Locate and identify all filters, dipsticks, indicators, fill tubes, drains, and test points.

• Locate and identify the major components and explain operation of the 3516E engine and the Tier 4 Final emissions system.

• Trace the flow of fuel, oil, air, coolant, and DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) throughout the engine.

• Trace the flow of oil throughout all hydraulic components and explain operation.

• Test and adjust the hydraulic system as how each component corresponds with the entire system.

• Explain operation Torque convertor and powertrain transmission.

• Test and adjust the powertrain system.

• Test and adjust on the braking, and steering system.

• Locate all controls in the new operator’s station, explain the operation of the new tractor.
