Finning partners with Girls Inc. to break gender stereotypes

Finning is pleased to be partnering with Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta in the delivery of their Operation S.M.A.R.T Program which supports engaging girls in trusting mentoring relationships and research-based hands-on programming in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

“We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Finning Canada on this innovative, meaningful and bold initiative. Together with a growing body of advocates for women and girls in STEM, we hope that many girls in our community find sparks and passion through this program and ultimately break the gender stereotypes,” said Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Northern Alberta, Nansae Tonda.

This partnership also allowed Girls Inc. to develop the Finning Canada STEM Award. As a result, two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to qualified female students from the Wood Buffalo region in their first year of post-secondary school enrolled in a STEM program.
