COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Length: 3 days (10 hrs/day)

C-175 Engine for Large Mining Mobile Equipment.

PPE Required

Participants must provide their own safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and coveralls with Hi-Visibility Markings.

PREREQUISITES

Customer must supply machine for practical portion of class, to be available throughout the class duration. All training done on customer site will be in accordance with site policies and procedures.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

NOTE: Course objectives are reviewed by the customer and may be altered to accommodate the required content customers are requesting to meet their focused objectives.

 After completion of the course the participant will be able to:

  • Overview of recent updates to the C175 Engine

  • Describe updates to fuel system (i.e. Low-pressure fuel upgrades, and Tier 4 fuel system)

  • Describe components used in the low Maintenance Ratio Engine

  • Perform the following tasks on engine with Instructor supervision

  • R&I cylinder head

  • D&A cylinder head

  • Remove install piston liner pack

  • D&A piston liner pack

  • R&I High pressure pump

  • R&I Cam followers 

  • Perform camshaft timing

  • Perform trouble shooting and diagnostics on engine electrical system

  • During disassembly of components will be able to identify areas of coolant , fuel and engine oil cross contamination

Successful completion of a written examination with a passing grade that is established by the customer prior to exam:  (Customer ranges can vary -70%, 75%, 80%)
