Hire Experience Sees Pirret Electrical Services Buy First Cat Telehandler

MONDAY, MARCH 23 RD, 2015

Specialist Scottish contractor, Pirret Electrical Services, has invested in its first piece of plant equipment, purchasing a Cat® TH417C telehandler from Finning as a direct result of hiring the machine from Hewden.

Having hired the machine for a number of months to support the installation of electrical sub-stations for Scottish Power, Pirret’s Managing Director John Pirret was suitably impressed with the Cat TH417C’s all round performance. Recognising the benefits of investing in its own equipment to support its Scottish Power contract, John made contact with Finning, purchasing both the machine and fitted attachments.

Commenting on the deal, Finning sales representive, Mark Wemyss said: “The Cat TH417C is a very versatile machine that has proved very popular in the hire market. Having experienced the machine onsite for their very specific application, the Pirret team had real confidence in its capabilities and recognised the benefit of having a unit in its own fleet.

The package we were able to put together for Pirret was very competitive and we were able to help them tailor the machine to the very unique application they are working on. The key features of the telehandler itself include the EU Stage IIIB certified engine and the new load-sensing, variable-displacement axial-piston hydraulic pump.”
