Saving Gas – Cat 924 Ag Outperforms Competition At Grasslands

TUESDAY, MAY 27 TH, 2014

An average of £5,000 of annual fuel savings could be achieved by customers using the new agricultural spec Cat® 924K AG Handler, following the results from a live demonstration held at this year’s Grasslands and Muck show at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.

In the live demonstrations, the new Cat 924K AG used an average of just 11 litres per hour to perform a number of agricultural everyday tasks. This fuel usage was a clear 5 litres per hour less than the nearest competition. Over its lifetime the demo unit has recorded an average consumption of 8.5 litres per hour on the in-cab monitor.

Commenting on the performance of the Cat 924K AG, Steve Edwards, Finning BCP Channel Manager, said: “The Cat 924K AG is one of the latest additions to The Cat AG Range and has been specifically designed for Agricultural sector. It benefits from latest electronic technology that shares the power from the engine between the transmission and hydraulics to give optimum performance when the operator needs it. We knew from our own competitor testing that the Cat 924K AG performed better than the competition, but it is great to be able to prove this in a live demonstration at one of the key agricultural shows in the country, Grasslands and Muck.

“At the end of the day based on average working hours for the application, customers could be looking at a fuel saving of up to £5,000 per year when using the Cat 924k compared to competitor equipment.
